Marriage Equality In CA: Justice Won Through Love
Thu May 15, 2008 at 09:20:29 PM PDT
Today's effective win of full marriage equality for same-sex couples in California is a wonderful victory in this time of progress for civil rights.
Massachusetts was indeed a breakthrough, but no longer lonely, joined in equal rights law by the more than 36 million citizens of California.
Senate Please Discipline Hillary's Racism
Thu May 08, 2008 at 12:37:37 PM PDT
There needs to be immediate disciplinary action against H. Clinton in the Senate. Her open, vile racism would be offensive from any elected official, and it is now reflecting on the Democratic Party. Are we going back to a post-reconstructionist party of racism?

Barack Obama has now won the last ten Democratic primary contests.
Does everyone recall that McCain sang, "Bomb Iran" to the tune of The Beach Boys' "Barbara Ann"?
I would like to be a modest mystic. I am also a proud liberal.
George Bush's Fault? End this WAR
Tue Oct 02, 2007 at 09:09:11 PM PDT
If I understood Nancy Pelosi correctly, her main feelings about the war right now are that it is George Bush's fault. I don't think that's enough. And I must advocate immediately for her removal if the Democrats want to be a party that represent the people - who demand we get out of Iraq.

Protests: When Are We Ready?
Tue Jan 31, 2006 at 07:56:49 PM PDT
I want to write this with my opinion clear, but open to listen to other views, and perhaps not find like-mindedness at dkos, in which case, I would appreciate your constructive pointing in the right direction of where I might find it.
We have attempted to play the "inside," "grownup," "within the system" political game for over two decades now, with losses piling up upon losses for the political left. I believe the left needs to consider lawful, peaceful, non-violent protest and assembly as a serious method to bring the values of the majority of this nation's people into our government.

I have donated to the
Red Cross and strongly urge everyone else to do the same.
Because of anti-gay discrimination problems from the Red Cross (in not accepting healthy gay blood), I am also strongly recommending donations to:
The Rainbow World Fund.
Lieberman Opponent Fails to Support Equal Rights
Fri May 06, 2005 at 08:06:14 AM PDT
I contacted candidate Dr. John Orman who is running to defeat the DINO incumbent Joe Lieberman for U.S. Senate from Connecticut.
I asked about whether he supports equal marriage rights for same-sex couples. I am more than a little perplexed at how he seemed to wonder if I was proposing to him. This indicates to me that he has an unfortunate discomfort with this issue of equal rights.
